Checking in...

The last couple of weeks have been real busy! From getting my truck broken into, trying to meet a deadline at work that is still a week away, heading to Las Vegas for a great weekend with a friend, helping out with Stampede, finishing up my first summer session, and trying to spend quality time with my lovely wife, Val, I haven't had too much time to sit down and write a few things out. The truck is fine, the deadline is do-able, Vegas was fun (watch the video on the link), Stampede is awesome, school is school, and Val is the best! My biggest problem is making sure God stays in the mix also...

Busy Weekend

This weekend was busy but fun. Val and I went to Unos for dinner on Friday night. I love Unos! We tried some Turning Leaf Merlot Wine and really liked it. We strolled around and spent some time in Barnes and Nobles. Not my favorite place, but I found a handyman book that kept me busy while she ran around the store.

Saturday I ran sound for a wedding at our church. It was really nice, not showy, but simple and special. There was a guy playing guitar and his wife singing with him. They sounded awesome together. It was really cool just to hear a acoustic guitar and some vocals, pure and strong. After that, I pretty much played the part of house bum until the Flames and Lightening came on. Val and I popped open another bottle of wine and had a nice home cooked meal.

Sunday, we went to church and went to OTB afterwards with some friends, much to Val's disapproval. She had her first soccer game that night and scored a goal! Unfortunately, the team fell 7-4. It is co-ed league, and if a girl scores, it is worth 2 points. Then we topped off the night at Freebirds!

Now back to the weekly grind that is work...
